“You’re my little prince, hyung.” — Yoo Seong-won, Episode 11
Flex X Cop 2 has spent ten episodes letting I-soo’s money and connections solve every problem the show puts in front of him. Episode 11 takes that tool away entirely by putting him on the other side of an interrogation table, and the hour is more effective for how little it lets him do about it. The season’s single best twist here isn’t a reveal about the case. It’s watching a man who has never once doubted his own innocence start to wonder if he’s wrong about himself.
The episode drew a 6.4 percent national rating, a 7.6 percent peak, and a 6.7 percent Seoul-metro average, a dip from episode 10’s rebound. Given how much of the hour takes place inside a holding cell rather than out in the field, a quieter rating tracks with a quieter, more interior episode.
The One Case I-soo’s Wealth Can’t Touch
A wrongly accused detective is a reliable device in Korean procedurals, usually deployed to test whether a team’s loyalty survives the moment their own colleague becomes the suspect. This show has an unusually clean way into that premise, because I-soo’s entire detective persona up to this point has run on the assumption that money fixes what evidence can’t. Episode 11 strips that assumption out completely. Inside a cell, his wealth doesn’t buy him an alibi, doesn’t intimidate a task force captain, and doesn’t make the drug test results disappear. For the first time all season, the show’s main character is exactly as powerless as everyone he’s ever investigated.
That powerlessness ripples outward in a way the show hasn’t bothered with before. Internal affairs accuses Hye-ra’s team of favoritism for ever treating I-soo as trustworthy, and his uncle uses the scandal to push through a boardroom vote removing Choi Jeong-hun from the chairmanship while I-soo isn’t there to stop it. The case against I-soo was never just about one murder. It’s a stress test on every institution his money has quietly been propping up.
A Loose Thread From Two Episodes Ago, Finally Tied Off
The flashback that opens the hour answers a question the show had left hanging since the ransacked house in episode 9: Kim Yeong-hwan, I-soo’s former friend turned drug-ring informant turned convicted addict, had been using a years-old spare key to break into I-soo’s home even before the night he died, which accounts for the earlier mess without needing a shaman’s curse or a rival’s sabotage to explain it. It’s a small piece of housekeeping, but it matters, because the season has let several unexplained incidents around I-soo pile up without resolving any of them, and this is the first one the show bothers to close.
What it doesn’t close is the handshake. Yeong-hwan, resentful that I-soo had him arrested years earlier and determined to leave the country with the last word, coats his palm in a contact-absorbed narcotic called Touch before offering a farewell handshake. I-soo takes it without hesitation, the same reflexive trust that got him into trouble with Yoo Seong-won for two seasons running, and goes down before he can process what happened.
Flex X Cop 2 Episode 11 Ending Explained
Hye-ra’s team clears I-soo by working the case the way he’d normally work it himself, canvassing instead of spending: a stalking victim next door, singer Go Dan-bi, had a motion-triggered security camera on her own door that happened to catch a second man entering I-soo’s apartment thirty minutes after he came home, and forensics confirms the drug in his system transferred through Yeong-hwan’s own hand rather than anything I-soo administered himself. The 112 call recorded in his voice turns out to be fabricated. Ex-convict Jo Pil-gu, a repeat offender with a record built for exactly this kind of job, gets identified as the man on camera, and I-soo walks free in time to reverse his uncle’s boardroom coup as the company’s largest shareholder.
The frame itself doesn’t fully explain who wanted it to work. What the episode offers instead of a motive is a phone call: after Jo Pil-gu is cornered and takes a student hostage rather than surrender, a post-credits scene shows him calling Yoo Seong-won from inside the police station, telling him to come quickly. It’s the most direct link the season has drawn yet between Seong-won and anything criminal happening around I-soo, a step up from inference to something closer to an actual paper trail, though the show still hasn’t said what Seong-won promised Jo Pil-gu or why.
What Episode 12 Might Bring
If the preview for the next episode is any indication, Seong-won begins work on a new piece almost immediately, and a delivered body suggests his circle of potential victims may now include the people investigating him rather than just his usual models. Expect the season to keep circling the question Seong-won keeps putting directly to I-soo rather than answering it: whether the two men are as similar as Seong-won insists they are.
Verdict
This is the strongest acting showcase the season has given Ahn Bo-hyun, who spends most of the hour doing less rather than more, letting doubt creep into a character who has never had reason to doubt himself before. Yoo Seung-ho’s cell visit is the episode’s centerpiece for a reason: he shifts from concerned younger brother to something colder in the space of a single line, and the show lets the silence after it do the work rather than cutting away.
The ratings dip reads as a function of pacing rather than a problem, since this episode trades the show’s usual momentum for something slower and more psychological, and that trade mostly pays off. With a hostage still in play, a boardroom fight only just resolved, and a phone call that finally puts Seong-won on the record with a crime, Flex X Cop 2 has more hanging over its final stretch than at any point since the premiere.

Our Verdict: 🔗📞 — A frame-up that money couldn’t fix, and a phone call that finally names a suspect.
